Teoria e Contexto em Ação: Passado Perfeito (HAD + PP)

Veja em ação:
John: "Why was Ana so upset?" (Por que a Ana estava tão chateada?)
Mark: "Because she had lost her keys." (Porque ela tinha perdido as chaves dela.)

Usamos o Passado Perfeito para falar sobre o "passado do passado". É uma ação que aconteceu *antes* de outra ação no passado.

A fórmula é: Sujeito + HAD + Verbo no Particípio Passado (PP).

  • O HAD (e HAD NOT / HADN'T) é usado para *todas* as pessoas (I, You, He, She, It, We, They).
  • Contração: 'd (Ex: I'd gone, She'd finished).
  • Particípio Passado (PP): Verbos regulares terminam em -ED (worked). Verbos irregulares têm uma 3ª forma (go -> went -> gone; see -> saw -> seen).

Exemplos Práticos da Estrutura:

Verbo Regular (Work):

  • Afirmativa: I had (I'd) worked.
  • Negativa: I had not (hadn't) worked.
  • Interrogativa: Had I worked?

Verbo Irregular (Go):

  • Afirmativa: He had (He'd) gone.
  • Negativa: He had not (hadn't) gone.
  • Interrogativa: Had he gone?
